The current political climate, both domestic and international, is causing many Canadians to feel stressed and uncertain about their jobs, finances, purchases, travel… broadly speaking, their way of life and prospects for the future. A few of our clients have asked their coaches, “What should we do to deal with what’s going on in the world?”
To our clients, first of all know that you are working with an experienced financial professional who is on your side and works with your best interests at heart. When we say we’re here to help take the worry out of money, we mean it!
Second, if you have recently updated your financial plan, rest assured that you already have a solid roadmap to guide you through such turbulent times. A financial plan allows for the unexpected and ensures you are not taking on unnecessary risk, with measures to mitigate the remaining risk. Chances are the smartest thing to do is simply to “stick to the plan” and avoid making rash decisions out of fear.
If your circumstances or goals have significantly changed or you have specific concerns as a result of current events, by all means reach out to your Money Coach and have a conversation.
Canadians are resilient, and we will overcome these current challenges as we have many times in the past. Together.
